This five concert series at Town Hall Seattle kicks off with cellist and series Artistic Director Joshua Roman performing an evening of piano trios with Vancouver Symphony Orchestra concertmaster/violinist Dale Barltrop and acclaimed pianist Victor Santiago Asuncion on Tuesday, September 11th. Sunday, November 4th, Igudesman and Joo (violinist Aleksey Igudesman and pianist Hyung-ki Joo) bring their unique blend of comedy, classical music, and popular culture all in the hope of making classical music accessible to a wider and younger audience. Violinist Jennifer Koh performs Bach and Beyond, a series of three recitals that explore the history of the solo violin repertoire from Bach’s Six Sonatas and Partitas to modern-day composers, including newly commissioned works on Thursday, February 7th.
On Wednesday April 10th, Talea Ensemble, conducted by James Baker and joined by Mr. Roman, present new, groundbreaking music in a concert that is sure to inspire.
Wrapping up the series on Tuesday, June 11th and returning to Town Hall after an explosive May 2011 concert, JACK Quartet, joined by Joshua Roman perform “viscerally exciting” and “mind-blowingly good” new works, featuring a performance-specific commission by Jefferson Friedman.
