LOS ANGELES CHAMBER ORCHESTRA RESIDENCY & SAN FRANCISCO GIRLS CHORUS COMMISSION

Following his appearance with the Sacramento Philharmonic on April 9, Joshua embarks on projects in two other California cities. During a residency with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra April 16 through 23 that marks his debut with the ensemble, he presents recitals, participates in community outreach programs, and performs Mason Bates’s Cello Concerto at UCLA and in Glendale as well as in several local schools. The concerto is dedicated to Joshua, who gave its “world-class world premiere” (Seattle Times) with the Seattle Symphony last season and has since performed it in Texas and Oklahoma. Joshua gives a recital of select Bach cello suites at LA’s Zipper Hall, a concert of contemporary solo and chamber music by LA-based composers at Santa Monica’s Hear Now Festival, and a special performance at iconic independent record store Amoeba Music in Hollywood. See Joshua’s full Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra residency activities here. Joshua also makes a special appearance with the San Francisco Girls Chorus on April 10, featuring the world premiere of his composition Our Voice, commissioned by the ensemble. He also accompanies the choir in works by Haydn, Franck, Brahms, and others. Find tickets and more information here.
