Joshua Roman Performs Elgar Concerto with Westchester Philharmonic
Appearing with the Westchester Philharmonic under the baton of Danail Rachev, Joshua Roman presents Elgar’s elegiac Cello Concerto on the afternoon Sunday, June 14. "Roman, who seemed to disappear into the music while creating it, bathed in a sheer mist of sound. Remember his name: it will be in the pantheon of Jacqueline du Pré, Pablo Casals, and Yo-Yo Ma, all performers of this great work,” said the Greenwich Times of his interpretation of the work, which is one of the cornerstones of the cello repertory. Notes on the program, which also includes Pärt’s Fratres and Brahms's Symphony No. 2, can be downloaded here. Find tickets and more information.
