Joshua performs Aaron Jay Kernis's Dreamsongs in the Bay Area this weekend
Later this week, Joshua revisits Dreamsongs, the cello concerto written for him by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Aaron Jay Kernis, in his three upcoming appearances with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra (Oct 25-27). Joshua gave the "dazzling" (Columbus Dispatch) world premiere of the work last spring with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra and later presented the work’s West Coast premiere at Washington’s Bellingham Festival in July, where Entertainment News NW called his performance “electrifying … nothing short of flawless.” On Friday, Joshua joins the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and conductor Benjamin Simon at the Nourse Theater in San Francisco, before traveling to Palo Alto on Saturday and Berkeley on Sunday. All concerts are free and open to the public. Click here for more information.
