Roman performs first live video webcast following State Dept. Debut
On the heels of this week's appearance at the State Department, Joshua Roman performs his first-ever live video webcast tonight only, on the Interlochen website. He will be performing the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Interlochen Academy Orchestra and Octavio Mas-Arocas. Joshua Roman performed on Wednesday, January 19, for an audience at the State Department in Washington, D.C. that included such notables as visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Also in attendance were an impressive assortment of current and former government officials, as well as celebrities (Michelle Kwon, Barbara Streisand, and Amy Tan to name a few). Roman did not take the stage alone, however. His duo partner was none other than Yo-Yo Ma, who invited Roman to join him for the prestigious luncheon performance. They performed three selections: Dona Nobis Pacem, Summer in the High Grassland, and Barriere's duo for two cellos.
On Saturday, January 22, Roman's performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Interlochen Academy Orchestra, led by Octavio Mas-Arocas, will be broadcast live on the internet. Point your browser to www.interlochen.org at 7:30 EST to see this live video webcast, which is Roman's first such event, and not to be missed!
