Official news of Cellist Joshua Roman

Joshua Roman chosen as TED Fellow for TED 2011

Joshua Roman was just announced as one of the TED Fellows for the class of 2011. TED takes place the first week of March in Long Beach, California. TED conferences are designed to promote ideas worth spreading, and feature notable speakers. The TED Fellows program helps world-changing innovators from around the globe become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. Fellows are drawn from many disciplines that reflect the diversity of TED's members: technology, entertainment, design, the sciences, the humanities, the arts, NGOs, business and more. Many of the talks given at TED events are posted online at and shared all over the internet.

This will be Joshua's second conference of the year, following his appearance at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters 2011 conference in January. As a participant in APAP's Young Performer's Career Advancement program he will learn more about career and business involvement and meet a wide range of presenters, promoters, managers and others working in the arts. He will also perform a recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in a showcase event.
