Welcome and Some News

Hello! Welcome to my new website! And... to my brand-spanking-new blog. I'll be posting news updates, items about special events and concerts, and random thoughts here from time to time. Perhaps even some musings on the cello and things of a musical nature!

May is turning out to be quite an exciting month. After a whirlwind of fun concerts and varied repertoire in April, I was expecting a little break. Instead, last week I had the immense pleasure of being called last minute to perform Schubert's "Trout" Quintet with Karen Gomyo, Cynthia Phelps, Kurt Muroki, and Alessio Bax of the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players here in NYC. Now, I am busy preparing for the world premiere of David Stock's Cello Concerto with the Seattle Symphony next weekend. More on that later!

For now, please look around the site and enjoy some of the wonderful features that have been added by the super-cool team at Steinhardt Design. I will also be uploading videos of the 40 Popper Etudes on a quasi-weekly basis. These can be found on the Videos page or on my YouTube page. Also, check out my recent feature article in Strings Magazine (there, now I've covered the 'news' portion of the blog).

Now for the random thought—it's been a long day and I'm in a James Taylor sort of mood, so I'm gonna keep it short:

Who's bigger, Mr. Bigger or Mr. Bigger's son? Mr. Bigger's son. Why? Because he's a little Bigger!

Ok my apologies... so I'll leave you now to explore the site. Don't forget to sign the Guestbook!

Cheers, Joshua
