From Mike Bajuk on July 11, 2010:

Great performance tonight Joshua! Thanks for coming to B’ham!

From Carol Robinson on June 20, 2010:

I thoroughly enjoyed your Town Hall concert on June 10th. The Brahams was virtuosic for both cello and piano, and the soaring melodies in the Schumann brought tears to my eyes. I’m looking forward to your next concert in Seattle.

From Daisy Shangrow on June 11, 2010:

I’m sure that the Town Hall concert tonight was fantastic- I had a concert of my own and couldn’t make it. Looking forward to your concerts at Western next month, I will make sure not to miss those!

From Michael Schramm on June 5, 2010:

From Trish Cadwallader on April 11, 2010:

Joshua,
P.S.-Forgot to mention, I enjoyed meeting Midge, too. Give her my best!

From Trish Cadwallader on April 11, 2010:

Joshua,
It was fun to see you and Yung-Jen Chen performing at Suzy and Rocky Saxbe’s home in Columbus. The evening was enchanting, I felt like I should have been wearing white gloves and a lovely silk gown sitting in a European court while listening to chamber music as once was so commonly done for evening entertainment! Hope you had time to catch some of the great food, too! We have tickets this evening for the ProMusica concert and having dinner with Jim Elliott and John Behal who also helped sponser Friday’s intimate concert… Come visit us again in Columbus. -Trish Cadwallader

From Diana Barbee on March 1, 2010:

I enjoyed so much Joshua seeing you on the campus of TCC in Tulsa. 2/27/2010 your brother’s birthday, sadly our schedule only allowed us to stay for half so I am interested in recordings how to obtain them. But truly you are inspiring to so many thanks alot for sharing it!! Regards Diana Barbee

From Keith Dukavicius on December 30, 2009:

Joshua, I give up! Somewhere in the back of my closet of dreams I thought there may have been a scrap of a chance that, before my dying day, I could learn to play the cello. After hearing your performance on Chicago Tonight, I have faced the reality that I never shall, and with YOU around, what’s the point?! Still, I am content knowing I can listen to your wonderful gift. Cheers to you and a Happy New Year! Signed, a new fan, Keith. Check out my band at http://www.myspace.com/swoonmethod.

From Dave Schappell on November 16, 2009:

Hi Joshua — my wife and I really enjoyed your performance at the Benson’s home several weeks/months ago. We look forward to attending your Town Hall Music performances.

From Lynne Cassone on October 31, 2009:

Hi, Joshua-
My son and I enjoyed your recent concert at UK, Lexington tremendously…wanted you to know. I especially appreciate your playfulness and obvious joy you take in playing and convey so well. If you’ve ever seen the two musical Marx brothers(Chico and Harpo) play, you may recognize the ethos (though neither were nearly as accomplished as you). I hope you become the model for classical music for the 21st century.
Bravo!

From Beatriz Cabral on October 27, 2009:

Hi Josh . I´m from Portugal, I´m 10 y.old and I´m studing cello since i was 5 .I knew you recently but you are just an inspiration to me.

From Casi Mendoza on October 11, 2009:

On a different note, if you have time, you wouldn’t mind coming to visit the school who performed with the New Philharmonic, would you?
They would really really really appreciate it.

From Casi Mendoza on October 11, 2009:

After seeing and hearing you live, I just want to say that you’re wonderful. I absolutely love Julie-O and your playing just makes me want to switch from playing the violin to the cello.

From Mariela Catalla on October 11, 2009:

It was lovely meeting you tonight at DuPage! Loved the Shostakovich, Bach, and Julie-O!

From W R on October 9, 2009:

AMAZING!! Watched you on chicago tonight and you are absolutely amazing!! God Bless you!

From Kristin Shulman on October 8, 2009:

Any possibility you could do an encore of Julie-O, the piece you played on Chicago Tonight, at the COD performance Friday night? It was fantastic. Takes the cello to a whole other dimension. Thank you for considering it.

Josh: If the people of suburban Chicago only knew the treat that awaits them on 10/9; I remember well that August night that you played the Shostakovich Cello Concert #1 with the NW Sinfonietta in Tacoma. I do hope that I have the opportunity to repeat the experience.
I will be coming to the east coast in November (11/4 – 11/6 in DC, 11/7-11/9 in Boston and 11/10-11/13 in NYC). Will you be playing for beer and hot dogs at any venue during these times? Seattle misses you.

A lovely memory – two young fellows bored, wriggling, fidgeting on the front row at the Federal Way Symphony last October suddenly became completely mesmerized and charmed to rapt, quiet attention by your solo performance of T’s “Rococo Variations”.

From Ena on May 31, 2009:

Hi!
I was there for your performance with the Seattle Symphony on May 30th. I enjoyed it so much, even though I listen to classic music very little. Your performance made my day (night?), and has been keeping me happy until now! haha.

I hope to see you playing again sometime soon. See you there.

Joshua, your recent recital with friends at Town Hall in Seattle was deeply satisfying and very rich, with five composers represented. Thank you so much. It was truly one of my best musical experiences of the season. (The other was Watts in the Grieg concerto, despite his minor slips.) Please return to Seattle as often as possible! Have a great summer, enjoy all your performances around the world.

From Marie Bethke on April 28, 2009:

From Donshu Caldwell on April 19, 2009:

Dear Joshua,
From a retired violinist, I enjoyed very much your performance of the Elgar last night in Stamford. I predict a bright future ahead of you.

From Susan Rigano on April 19, 2009:

I just attended the 4.19 Sunday matinee of the Stamford Symphony Orchestra for the sole reason that I wanted to hear you play the Elgar Cello Concerto. I’d been reading about your prodigious talent and the Elgar cello concerto is one of my favs. You played brilliantly and I hung on every note. Thank you for the added bonusof an encore. As a frustrated ex-cellist who has heard the best of the best over the years I know I will be able to say that I heard you early in your career when you played in Stamford. You are phenomenal and I am blessed to have been at today’s concert. Your fan forever!
